Terms
The deal between you and us. You forward voice notes, we summarise them, and neither of us pretends a machine transcript is perfect.
The agreement
By forwarding a voice note to the Gistlify number you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not forward anything — that is the whole opt-out.
The agreement is between you and Gistlify Technologies Ltd, Lagos, Nigeria.
What the service does
Gistlify transcribes a voice note, summarises it, and offers a reply you can send. It supports Nigerian Pidgin, Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa and accented English, including code-switching within one sentence.
You need a WhatsApp account and a working number. There is nothing to install.
Accuracy, and its limits
Transcription and summarisation are automated and will sometimes be wrong. Heavy background noise, several people talking over each other, and very long notes are where accuracy drops.
Reply WRONG and we will send you the full transcript with timestamps and run a second pass.
Do not rely on a Gistlify summary alone for a medical, legal, financial or safety-critical decision. Read the transcript, or listen to the note. We are giving you a fast read, not a certified record.
What you are responsible for
You must have the right to forward the audio you send us. If a note was shared with you in confidence, that is between you and the person who sent it.
- Do not send content that is unlawful, or audio obtained by unlawful recording.
- Do not use Gistlify to harass, stalk, surveil or profile another person.
- Do not attempt to resell, scrape, automate against or reverse-engineer the service.
- Keep your phone number secure. Anyone with access to your WhatsApp can read your history.
Plans and payment
The free tier gives you 10 notes a month, each up to 3 minutes. It stays free.
Unlimited is ₦800 per month, or ₦8,000 per year, charged in advance. It covers unlimited notes of up to 60 minutes, suggested replies, group digests and searchable history.
Prices are in Naira and include applicable VAT. We will give you 30 days' notice on WhatsApp before any price rises, and you can cancel in that window.
Cancelling and refunds
Reply STOP to cancel. It takes effect immediately, there is no form and nobody will call you to talk you out of it. You keep paid features until the end of the period you have already paid for.
If the service was materially broken during a period you paid for, tell us and we will refund that period. We would rather refund you than argue.
Availability
Gistlify is in closed testing and is not yet generally available. Once it launches we aim for 99.5% monthly availability, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service — we depend on WhatsApp, on network operators and on cloud infrastructure, and any of them can have a bad day.
Build progress now, and incidents after launch, are posted on the status page.
Who owns what
Your audio, transcripts and summaries are yours. We claim no ownership and no licence to use them beyond running the service for you.
The Gistlify name, the software and this website are ours.
Liability
To the extent Nigerian law allows, our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to what you paid us in that period, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — including anything that follows from acting on an inaccurate summary.
Nothing here limits liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Suspension
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that is being used to harm someone, or that is placing an abusive load on the service. Where it is safe and lawful to do so, we will tell you why.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the courts of Lagos State have jurisdiction.
